Dual Fuse- Front & Center.
Drill down for more on what it can do for Rig Operators…
By virtue of its design, the Dual Fuse® tank container is a versatile conduit in the collection, storage and transportation of drilling waste materials thanks to its capacity to assume a variety of different functions.
It can be used as an instant albeit temporary storage facility, for OBM (Oil Based Mud) and SBM (Synthetic Base Mud). Additionally it can hold drill cuttings pending the conveyance to Dual Fuse® on board the PSV (Platform Supply Vessel). Under another scenario it can hold drill cuttings temporarily pending CRI (Cuttings Re-injection). Furthermore it can hold cuttings prior to feeding these into cuttings dryer, and finally it can be used for filling of skips and vacuum boxes. On land the Dual Fuse® tank containers can be deployed to transport drill cuttings to drilling waste process facilities. The Dual Fuse® tank container can be loaded under vacuum by deploying a liquid ring vacuum pump with air capacity of 1600cbm and above. Additionally, it can be loaded pneumatically by deploying a Cuttings Blower.
Discharge of the Dual Fuse® container is effected pneumatically, requiring a compressed air supply normally provided by a separate compressor. No other utilities are required. In order to discharge the Dual Fuse® tank container it is first pressurized, the 5″ Dome outlet valve is opened and the contents are discharged continuously.
The DNV 2.7.3 certified, Weigh Frame, designed according to ISO standard 668, is a framework designed to support the Dual Fuse® container when it stands in the vertical plane and comes complete with demountable load cells and a 12” Dial.
The DNV 2.7.3 certified, Dual Fuse® Rig Installation Module (DIM) (also referred to as ‘Rim’ (Rig Installation Module) or Rig Piping Interface Module) is a purpose designed module that is transported to Rigs where it is placed at the foot of each Dual Fuse® container. The Dim or otherwise called Rim module is effectively a piping manifold assembly that brings together all pipes that are essential for the operation of the Dual Fuse tank container including material to be loaded, compressed air, control air. It is for this reason that a Dim is placed at the foot of each Dual Fuse tank container.
The functionality explained…
The Dual Fuse® container has a stainless-steel pressure vessel housed in a 20-ft (6058mm) standard ISO-container-sized frame in conformity with ISO1496/III. It can be used for instant storage, transport and pneumatic conveyance of drill cuttings. It has a nominal capacity of 95 bbl/530 ft (95 bbl/15m ), and will hold up to 28 US (short) ton (25 metric ton) of cuttings, depending on density. Discharge of the Dual Fuse® container is effected pneumatically, requiring a compressed air supply normally provided by a separate compressor. No other utilities are required. To discharge the Dual Fuse® it is first pressurized, the 5’ Dome outlet valve is opened and the contents are discharged continuously. It is possible to suspend conveyance at any time during the discharge of a Dual Fuse® container and then restart, for example, when diverting the material flow from one Dual Fuse® container to another or to Bulk storage tanks at a Drill cuttings process facility.
Dual Fuse® operation is supported by essential auxiliary equipment:
The Weigh Frame designed according to ISO standard 668, is a framework designed to support the Dual Fuse® container when it stands in the vertical plane and comes complete with removable load cell and a 12” Dial. The Dual Fuse® is locked onto the Weigh Frame via its corner castings and the Iso twist locks incorporated into the Weigh Frame design.
The Dual Fuse® Installation Module (DIM) is purpose designed module that is transported to Rigs where it is placed at the foot of each Dual Fuse® container. Once the material and air supply lines are connected to it, it brings together pipes and connections within easy reach including the Dual Fuse® R Diverter valve and the Control Air, Top Air, (Tank) Air and Convey (Line) Air pipework required to respectively actuate valves and discharge the Dual Fuse containers. The DIM interlocks with the Weigh frame via the bottom corner castings of Weigh Frame and DIM.
